The Daily Catch Seaport was quite a disappointment. The only thing that really save this place is the location on the water and the great views. I would place Daily Catch alongside Anthony's Pier in the category of "great views/location; mediocre food+service". It's great that there are a number of new, noteworthy restaurant popping up in the area. Places like The Daily Catch and Anthony's Pier seem to have simply given up on quality in hopes of skating by on their past historic laurels.
Service was slow as they only had one server for the entire outdoor area during lunch on a weekday!
So I order the calamari meatball with red sauce. Sounds interesting. Totally not!

Sicilian Fish Soup: tomato fish broth with fish, vegetables, and potatoes. Could have been heartier, but had good flavor. |
The blandest pasta primavera ever with waterlogged veggies.
A simple dish deserves at least a dash of salt/seasoning.

There isn't much you can do to screw up a buffalo chicken sandwich, a Caesar salad or fried seafood items. Though I wasn't blown away by the Seafood Platter, the fried haddock was ok. The cole slaw was warm and overall blah, and the fish on the platter, dry. The seafood platter included sparse soggy, oily french fries.
I think I was mostly disappointed with the service; it's pretty unheard of for lunch to take almost 2 hours! But the food didn't help the situation.
