Cocktailing for a Cause: Always the Hawthorne+LUPEC + USBG Way!
Repeal Night was celebrated in great fashion at The Hawthorne.
Hosted by USBG Boston and LUPEC Boston.
******
The first legal drink was served at 6:31 pm, honoring the exact time the first legal alcoholic beverage was served to Massachusetts Joseph Ely in Boston on December 5, 1933.
******
All proceeds were donated to support USBG NYC and their efforts to help NYC bartenders affected by Hurricane Sandy.
Attendees were encouraged to dress in period pieces (flapper dresses, feathers, tuxedos, etc.) and enjoy a few (post) Prohibition Era cocktails.
Nothing makes this girl happy more than pulling out the pearls and stilettos and cocktailing with Boston's fabulous cocktail history broads and bucks!

We were "Spotted in Boston: Out and About In The City" by Boston.com's Laurie Swope at Repeal Night Celebration @ The Hawthorne |
The added bonus: Stephanie Schorow, Author of Drinking Boston: A History of the City and Its Spirits (Union Park Press, November 2012) attended and all guests received major swag bags which included a personally-signed book.
The night was full of fancy dresses and jewelry, regal tuxedos, suits, and hats, and of course, deliciously balanced punches and cocktails!
