Clover Food Lab Truck- Longwood Medical Area

My colleagues and I had been anticipating the arrival of Clover Food Truck for the week prior to it's arrival.  Multiple mass emails to all the food-lovers on campus (and beyond) revved up the excitement.

We ventured out in the dreary misty rain afternoon, hoping to beat 'the lunch crowd'.
We did pretty good with only one UPS guy beating us to the punch.
BBQ Seitan sandwich
Nice flavors.

Clover truck clearly brings out the best in people.  I hear this kind of sharing does not occur often in their household ;0)

Sweet Potato Salad (Cold).  The sweet potatoes added a nice twist.  This went especially well with the BBQ seitan sandwich....fresh ingredients...a must try.

Chickpea Fritter Sandwich.  I loved the amazing layers of flavors throughout this soft pita sandwich:  tzatziki sauce, pickled red cabbage, purple onion, hummus, and perfectly fried, light chickpea fritter.  This sandwich is VERY filling!

Hibiscus Iced Tea: refreshing.  Served only during warmer months.  Clover serves loose leaf hot teas during the cooler months.
Spicy African peanut soup: Served in the colder months, this soup was fantastic!  Nice spicy, rich base, topped with homemade sweet potato chips...a nice touch.

Rosemary Fries:  Could have benefited from a bit more rosemary. Overall, a good side dish.

Honorable mention:  Though I have yet to try this sandwich, I hear the Egg and Eggplant pita sandwich is worth a try!

Kick*ss Cupcakes (Copely Location)

I was as ecstatic as I possibly could be in freezing temperatures and windy conditions when after my hair appointment on Newbury Street, I stumbled upon the infamous Kickass Cupcakes Truck at the corner of Clarendon and Boylston!

I decided to try a few cupcake flavors that really caught my attention:

1. The Lemon Snap, 2. The Mojito, 3. The Cookie Dough
4. The Bubbly, and 5. The Cinnamon-Chai Coffee Cake....I have no idea why I didn't go for half a dozen!

The Lemon snap featured a moist, spicy ginger cake topped with a tangy icing
The Mojito: a rum-soaked yellow cake with lime frosting and garnished with mint and rock sugar.
I love cupcakes with an incorporated surprise! SPOILER ALERT!  The next two cupcakes featured wonderful surprises:

The Bubbly was a bubbly-infused cake with a strawberry in the middle, topped with a light strawberry frosting.  After all, what's bubbly without the strawberry!?!

The Cookie dough cupcake featured none other than a cookie dough center:
Please forgive the shadow...you get the idea!
What I'm most looking forward to trying next:
*A deep-fried cupcake, described on the menu as a"cream stuffed vanilla cupcake diped in sweet batter, deep fried to order and drizzled with chocolate syrup"!
*The Red Velvet
*The Banana Cream
*The Super Chocolate
*The Machiatto
*...and the list goes on and on!!!

Thanks Sara!!!
