Diner en Blanc (Boston's 1st Annual)- A Beautiful Night in ALL WHITE!

Yep!  Once we obtained all of our white items, I was FINALLY able to relax and be silly ME!!!

On Thursday, August 16th, close to 700 people gathered for Boston's 1st Annual Diner en Blanc on Boston's waterfront (on the lawn of the John Joseph Moakley Courthouse).  Attendees met their group leaders at 17 different meeting spots around the city.  Most traveled by chartered bus, some by the subway system.  All were kept in the dark about the actual location until their arrival.
Busmates!  OH the anticipation!!!

Diner en Blanc started 24 years ago in Paris, France and we finally have had a first taste of this classy, memorable event!  An elegant pop-up picnic for the elegant masses!  Diner en Blanc has popped up in many cities around the world!  This past year a few cities will or have had their first: Toronto, Vancouver, Atlantic City, NYC...

Attendees signed up for the waitlist ~ 6 weeks before the event.  Once able to register, attendees were informed that they MUST wear ALL WHITE...no cream, no beige, no off-white...PURE WHITE.  Moreover, attendees had to bring their own tables and chairs, white linen, china, silverware (no disposable items), centerpieces, and 3 course meals to share with their guest(s).

I went with 7 of my closest girlfriends and we had an absolute ball...after all of the stressing and worrying about finding all that we needed!

Food baskets and wine could also be purchased ahead of time and picked up from local participating restaurants like Petit Robert or on-site via The Gourmet Valet truck!

My Personal Basket!!!

Live entertainment was provided by French band C'est si bon and a DJ after dinner for dancing under the stars!

Dinner commenced with waiving of our linen napkins!

Our beautiful food:

Heirloom + mozzarella salad

Spinach quiche

Chicken alfredo

My contribution: Watermelon+English Cucumber salad w/feta and balsamic vinaigrette. Cold couscous salad with peppers, carrots, and feta.

Tossing bowtie pasta with mushrooms and garlic sauce!

Our dessert:

Cupcakes by Crumbs Bake Shop!

Two bars were set up and a grassy knoll used or dancing!

Red, White, & Bubbly!
